Natalie Davis recently retired after 45 years is now the Howell T. Heflin Professor Emerita of Political Science at Birmingham-Southern College.
Natalie has been active statewide in the education reform movement and in local community programs dealing with youth development and homelessness. She has served on a number of boards including Leadership Birmingham, Youth Leadership Forum, NCCJ, the A+ Research Foundation, and The Women’s Fund. She was a founder of the Alabama Women's Initiative and The Alabama Solution.
Davis has been a recipient of many honors and awards, including “Career Woman of the Year” and one of Birmingham’s “Top Ten Women.” She was a member of Leadership Birmingham’s first class and the 1992 Class of Leadership Alabama. In 2002, she was named a "Woman of Distinction" by the Girl Scouts of America and inducted into the Alabama Business and Professional Women's Hall of Fame. She was also in the 1st group of the BBJ’s “Top 40 Under 40.”
