Membership & Hospitality Committee

AWIB members represent an innovative, supportive community of women business leaders. Our unique mix of corporate leaders and entrepreneurs forms a powerful network. The membership committee is responsible for helping grow our organization through recruitment and retention of members.

Hospitality committee provides staff for luncheons and events as well as sending out welcome packets to new members, welcoming members and guest, and keeping track of attendance. Some of the responsibilities include setting up banners and working the registration table for each event. Serving on this committee is a way to meet members and become more involved in AWIB.

Program Committee

AWIB hosts a monthly luncheon and provides guest speakers who help to inspire and inform women in the business community. The program committee is responsible for procuring the speakers for member luncheons and special events as well as soliciting blogs and op-ed pieces for our website.

Events Committee

AWIB hosts quarterly events in order to help build stronger relationships within the existing membership and recruit new members to the group. These events are a fun and relaxing way to get to know each other better and gain a deeper understanding of the vision and mission of our organization. Unlike the yearly commitment of the other committees, this committee is ideal for someone who can only pledge a limited time throughout the year.

Marketing/Tech/Communication Committee

The Marketing Technology and Communications Committee is the backbone of AWIB’s electronic media profile. This committee is responsible for updating the website, postings on social media, and developing new ways to market AWIB.

Sponsorship Committee

The sponsorship committee is important to help us raise money in order to achieve our future goals. Members of this committee will participate in developing relationships with organizations in the Birmingham area for mutual growth opportunities in membership and support. Committee members will also assist in recruiting and retaining corporate partners as well as member sponsorships.
